Clearance requirements
We were requested by a young man to clear a large house which he had inherited. The property had belonged to his parents. His mother had been living there alone for many years after his fathers death.
The guy wanted to rent the house as he still wanted to remain in legal possession of it but wanted us the clear the contents.
Clearance overview
The house had four bedrooms and was located in the Cardigan area of South Wales. The owner had requested us to come at 10 am as he had to travel. Parking was not an issue here.
There was a lot of furniture in the house, which the man did not require as he and his
siblings families lived in their own homes. The woman had left the children’s rooms in
the same condition as when they had lived there. The owner wanted the carpets to be
disposed of and children’s possessions to be given to genuine charities.
Disposal of contents
There was not a lot of waste in this clearance. Most of the furniture was of good quality and good condition which was donated along with the white goods to a local charity shop.
There were clothes and in date food in the cupboards too which were all in good condition and were given to an food bank and the local church.
All carpets were lifted and disposed of at a nearby recycling centre.
There were some important documents that were found in a box in the basement and they were given to the young man. There were some old photographs as well that were found in the basement and the owner was grateful for their return.
