CLEARANCE OVERVIEW
We were requested by a young man to clear a large house which had
belonged to his parents. His mother had been living there alone for
many years after his father’s death, and the man had inherited the
house. He wanted to rent the house as he still wanted to remain in
legal possession of it but wanted us the clear the contents.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS
The house had four bedrooms and was located in the suburbs. The
owner had requested us to come at 12.00 pm as he came from another
city. Parking was not an issue here. There was a lot of furniture in
the house, which the man did not require as he, and his siblings’
families lived in their own homes. The woman had left the children’s
rooms in the same condition as when they had lived there. The owner
wanted the carpets to be disposed of and children’s possessions to
be given to genuine charities.
DISPOSAL OF THE CONTENTS
There was not a lot of waste in this cleaning. Most of the furniture
was of good quality and good condition and was sold through an online website, on the owner’s instructions. There were clothes in the cupboards too which were all in good condition and were given to an charity. The woman’s medicines were properly disposed of and the refrigerator and other white goods were donated to a charity. There were some important documents that were found in a box in the basement and they were given to the young man. There were some old photographs as well that were found in the basement and the owner was grateful for their return.
CLIENTS COMMENTS
The owner gave us the instructions and then left the site to run
some errands. When he came back and saw that we had completed the
clearance, he said that he was pleasantly surprised at our speed and
efficiency. He also remarked how other companies would have simply
thrown the boxes in the basement without bothering to check them but
we didn’t and because of our care he had gotten some legally
important documents and memorable photographs.
